Example
Category | Course Name | Credit | Grade | Grade Point |
---|---|---|---|---|
Selective Major | Course (A) | 3 | A+ | 4.5 |
Selective Major | Course (B) | 3 | B+ | 3.5 |
Selective Major | Course (C) | 3 | A+ | 4.5 |
Basic Liberal Arts | Course (D) | 2 | A+ | 4.5 |
Core Liberal Arts | Course (E) | 2 | B+ | 3.5 |
Core Liberal Arts | Course (F) | 2 | C+ | 2.5 |
Credits registered | 15 | GPA | 3.90 |
Grade Point Average = ( 3×4.5 + 3×3.5 + 3×4.5 + 2×4.5 + 2×3.5 + 2×2.5 ) / 15 = 3.90 / 4.50
Grade and Evaluation
- The grade is rated as A, B, C, D, and F. Each grade, except F, is classified as + (upper) if the rating falls top within the grade, and refer to the “Grade Rating Sheet” for the grade point and percentile scores.
- If it is deemed that the grade cannot be given due to the nature of the course, the grade is marked as “P” if the course is completed. Otherwise, it is marked as “F.”
Grade point calculation
- GPA Calculation : The sum of the grades (the number of credit x grade points) is divided by total credits registered and the third digit after the decimal point will be cut off.
- If the grade point average is the same, the ranking is : total grades, total credits earned, number of courses completed
Conversion of Grade
- To convert the grade or average grade to 100 points, refer to the Grade Rating Sheet.
Grade Rating Distribution Rate and Evaluation Method
Grade Rating Distribution Rate
Grade | Grade Average | Relative Rating Grade Distribution | Absolute rating | Percentile score | |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Relative rating (1) | Relative rating(2) | ||||
A or higher | 4.0 or higher | Less than 30% | Less than 40% | No limit | 90 or higher |
B or higher | 3.0 or higher | Less than 80% (A+B Accumulation) |
Less than 80% (A+B Accumulation) |
80 or higher | |
C or higher | 2.0 or higher | No limit | No limit | 70 or higher | |
D or higher | 1.0 or higher | 60 or higher | |||
F | - | Less than 59 |
If the course category is theoretical, then Relative rating (1) is applied.
For the practice course (In-campus practice), the grading distribution of the relative rating (2) is applied.
- In principle, the evaluation method is based on a relative rating.
- If any of the following is true, rating distribution may be an exception;
- The course with ten or fewer students
- The course that rates P / N (Pass / Fail) and on-the-job training courses
- The course in the Department of Teacher Certification
- The course that does not require other grade distribution
- International students ( (excluded from the class distribution rate of the courses)
Calculation of Grade Average
- To calculate the grade average, the total grades (the number of credits x grade point) is divided by the number of credits registered, and round off the numbers to two decimal places
- If the average is the same, the ranking is made according to the following order.
- Student with a high sum of percentiles
- Student with higher credits earned
- Student with a higher percentile sum over 3 credit
- Student with a higher percentile sum over 2 credit
- Younger student
- International students can be excluded from the grade rating of the department, major, and track, and can be rated separately if necessary for a scholarship.
Additional test evaluation
- In case of failing to take the test due to illness or other unavoidable reasons, additional test may be imposed and the grade may be evaluated.
Evaluation of Make-up exam
Grade cancellation
- The grade of the subject that the student has been disciplined for cheating
- The grade of the course that the student did not enroll.
- The grade of the course that the student missed 1/4 class hours during the semester.
Grading of a student on a leave of absence during the semester
- The grade of the student on a leave of absence during the semester is processed as follows.
학기 중 휴학자의 성적 처리 종류 및 성적처리를 안내하는 표 Type Recognition Regular leave of absence No recognition Military leave Joining the Army before 3/4 of the opening of course No recognition Joining the Army between after 3/4 of the opening of course and before the final exam A temporary examination is given, and scores of 60 or higher are recognized. However, the student who will join after the final exam should take the final exam.
