Minor
If a student earns prescribed credits (21 credits) from another department besides the first major, the degree of Major and Minor will be listed in the diploma together.
Double Major
If a student completes the prescribed credits (36 credits) of another major and meets graduation requirements (Basic major subjects, Mandatory major courses, Graduation thesis, etc.) besides the first major, the names of the degree of major and another major will be listed together in the diploma.
If a student earns prescribed credits (21 credits) from another department besides the first major, the degree of Major and Minor will be listed in the diploma together.
Double Major
If a student completes the prescribed credits (36 credits) of another major and meets graduation requirements (Basic major subjects, Mandatory major courses, Graduation thesis, etc.) besides the first major, the names of the degree of major and another major will be listed together in the diploma.
Eligibility
- The student who has completed more than two semesters (including those who are expected to complete the course) in his/her first major (Department)
- The double major is only available to students admitted in 2017. The students who admitted in 2018 are subject to the multi-major system.
- Minor is applicable to students who have completed two semesters or more.
Scope
- The double major in the Department of Medical Engineering under the Medical Law and the Department of Medical Technician under the Medical Technician Law are not allowed.
- The number of multi majors in each department is limited to about 20% of the admission capacity. If students are concentrated in a specific major or department intensively, they may be selected based on their grades.
- Students may apply two times for minor and double major during their studies.
Completion of Minor and Double Major
- Students who complete minor and double major must complete minimum credits for each first major category.
- In the case of Minor, the same course will not be recognized in duplicate.
- In the case of Double Major, te duplicate courses between the first major and the double major can be recognized for up to 12 credits of subjects and credits. However, the duplicated credits are not included in the calculation of graduation requirements
- Students who drop out of the minor or double major must complete the minimum credits of the major. Credits earned in the Minor and Double Major will be recognized as General Electives. However, if the student applies for a double major and fails to complete it, but he/she meets the credits (21 credits) of Minor, he/she can be recognized as completion of the minor.
- In the case that students who changed majors and the transfer students wish to have Minor or Double Major with credits earned in the previous major or department, they may be approved by a separate deliberation.
- If the transfer student's Minor and Double Major Department (School) is the same (similar) major and department as the previous university, the former university grades can be recognized as the credits of Minor and Double major.
Assessment of Completion
- Minor and Double Major students will not be able to award a degree even if they have met the graduation requirements. However, the degree is awarded when all graduation requirements of Double Major are met.
- All courses completed in Minor and Double Major will be listed in the Student's School Register and marked on the Certificate of Graduation. However, no diploma is awarded for the majors completed.
Course Period
- Minor and Double Major must be completed by the time of graduation of the first major. If they fail to complete Double Major credits, the graduation of the first major may be postponed until the completion of their studies in accordance with the student's desire.
Drop out
- If a student wishes to give up Minor and Double Major, he/ she must complete the Application for Cancellation and submit it to the relevant department by the end of the semester.
Conferment of Minor and Double Major Degree
- To receive a Double Major degree, the student must meet both the graduation requirements of the department of major and double major such as the graduation thesis, etc.
- When the graduation requirements of the students completed Minor are satisfied, all the matters related to the department of Major and completion of Minor will be listed on the certificate of a degree.
- If the double major's graduation requirements are met, a degree certificate will be given that shows both the degree of the major and the degree of the double major.
