The era of the so-called Fourth Industrial Revolution, which is represented by the big data connection and convergence technology and Artificial Intelligence (A.I.) is approaching. The Fourth Industrial Revolution will transform everything into an interconnected, more intelligent society. Reflecting on the trend of this era, the direction of University education is shifting from training specialized professionals based on past major education to fostering creative and convergent talents with liberal arts knowledge based on holistic education. 
To meet the demands of the times, the Institute will continuously strive to foster new Koreans (Shinhan man), who are equipped with and practice the "world view", "human view", and "values" and will do its best to open a new horizon of broad perspective, high ideals and deep reflection throughout the times through ① liberal education to cultivate true humanity, which is easy to lose in an imminent capitalist society; ② liberal arts education to provide communication skills and leadership for the global era; ③ liberal arts education to enhance the coherent and creative thinking skills required by the Fourth Industrial Revolution; ④ liberal education to develop the ability to predict and prepare for the diverse future and to challenge new things continually; ⑤ liberal arts education to cultivate various cultural and artistic literacy and athletic ability for abundant emotional life and effective health care.
